Modifying the simulation distance on a Minecraft server lets hosts set the radius around a player within which world events—such as mob behavior, redstone, and crop cycles—remain active. Turning this setting down reduces hardware strain and lag by minimizing the total number of chunks the CPU must actively compute. On the flip side, raising the distance prevents complex machinery and automated farms from freezing when players travel across the map.
Step 1. Log in to the MelonCube Games panel.
Step 2. Stop the server.
Step 3. From the View Distance field, take note of the value.
Step 4. Under the Config Files tab, choose Server Properties.
Step 5. In the Simulation Distance field, input the preferred value equal to or lower than the view distance from Step 3.
Step 6. Start the server.
