Adjusting the mob spawn range on a Minecraft server gives administrators direct control over how far from a player creatures can materialize. Decreasing this radius helps limit the total number of entities, alleviating hardware performance issues and lag during multiplayer sessions. Meanwhile, increasing the distance ensures that entities do not suddenly manifest right in front of players, making world exploration feel much more natural.
Requirement: Bukkit or Spigot/Paper must be installed on the server.
Step 1. Log in to the MelonCube Games panel.
Step 2. Stop the server.
Step 3. Go to the Files tab on the left.
Step 4. Choose the spigot.yml file.
Step 5. From the mob-spawn-range: line, change the value to the preferred chunks.
Note: It is recommended to match or lower the value based on the View Distance.
Step 6. Click the Save button.
Step 7. Start the server.
