How To Set Up DynMap on a Minecraft Server

The Minecraft plugin Dynmap is used to view a live map of the Minecraft server world. This map can be viewed externally on a web page and is fully interactive, making it an invaluable plugin for expanding Minecraft servers beyond the game.

Requirement: Dynmap must be installed by following the steps here.

Step 1. Log in to the MelonCube Games panel.

Step 2. Stop the server.

Step 3. Go to the Files tab on the left.

Step 4. Navigate to the folder: /plugins/dynmap/

Step 5. Choose the configuration.txt file.

Step 6. Set the deftemplatesuffix option to "vlowres" or "lowres".

Step 7. Under storage:, edit the #hostname to the IP of the server without the port.

Step 8. Change the #port to any port from 8000 - 9000.

Note: Do not set a port below 1024 or above 64999, as it will not work.

Step 9. Click the Save button.

Step 10. Start the server.

Note: Dynmap will now be viewable online by visiting http://SERVERIP:PORT from Steps 6 and 7. (E.g 199.105.236.241:8888) If Dynmap is still not viewable, try a different port.
